2011 Kittitas Valley's Fall Gathering of Stone Age Craftsmen An Associated PSK Knap-in
Jim Baugh is hosting a Knap-in at the Rock and Tomahawk Ranch north of Ellensburg on October 8th and 9th. The Rock and Tomahawk Ranch provides prime Ellensburg Blue Agate hunting at a cost of only $5.00 pre adult and $2.50 per child The site provides primitive camping and there is a KOA campground and hotels in nearby Ellensburg. There will be some simple shelters available but knappers should bring whatever they need to sit on, a tarp (or tarps) for their débitage and whatever you want to display our wares on. On the 8th there will be a potluck dinner followed by an auction of donated items to help cover the cost of the event. There will be a potluck lunch on the 9th. Directions: If you're coming from the West, East or South: Travel to Ellensburg on I-90 Get off at Exit 106 Head north 1 mile to Hwy 97 (toward Wenatchee) Continue on Hwy 97 1 mile to Lower Green Canyon Road Proceed for 5 miles then turn left of Reecer Creek Road When you come to Upper Green Canyon Road turn left and continue to the end of the Forest Service Road (1.5 miles) Arrive at 2590 Upper Green Canyon Road - you're there - Rock and Tomahawk Ranch! If your coming from the North: Head south on Hwy 97 towards Ellensburg About 10 miles north of Ellensburg turn left onto Smithson Road Go to the junction with Lower Green Canyon Road and turn left onto Lower Green Canyon Road Go to the end and trun left of Reecer Creek Road When yo getto Upper Green Canyon Road turn left onto it and continue to the end Arrive at 2590 Upper Green Canyon Road - Rock and Tomahawk Ranch
