Update on Jim Rayner

Hamilton, MT December 1, 2014

Recieved this note from Karen - "Jim is still doing well and maintaining better than anticipated. "

Bitterroot Valley Knap-in June 2014

Jim and Karen (and various offspring including grandchildren) were able to attend for a couple of days - much to the enjoyment of all of Jim and Karen's friends!  They even participated in the drum making activites - ending up with at least a couple of fine, finished drums!

Saturday March 22, 2014

While at the Glass Buttes Knap-in I received a call from Jim!  He's on a daily regimen of chemotherapy and is doing better and better.  The treatment is exhausting and he doesn't have his stamina back.  Still he's planning on attending the Bitterroot Valley Knap-in in June!  We all pray this will happen!

On Saturday, February 22nd I received the following email from Jim's wife Karen:

"I am sorry that I have been so slow with an update on Jim. He has now completed three rounds of maintenance chemo and is doing as good as can be expected. We are making lots and lots of trips to Missoula to the hospital's cancer and infusion centers.  After the first 7 days of a chemo cycle, we then go two or more times a week for  Dr. visits, lab work, and red blood or platelet infusions.  It keeps us pretty busy and is quite exhausting on all aspects.  Sometimes I think I have less energy than Jim!  He has done very well and is staying real positive.  He almost needs a little hair cut, so that is great too.
We want to thank you all for your encouragement!  God has blessed us with a wonderful support system.

My Mom was here for about three weeks and she did a lot of dog sitting.  I'm not sure she had fun, but Bandit and Cinnamon liked it.  It was real nice to visit with her.  She now understands what a crazy schedule we are trying to keep up with and why I don't get anything else done around here.  Well I have been getting some aerobic exercise shoveling snow lately.  We are predicted to have blizzard conditions Sunday and Monday.. Yippee ..that darn ground hog...

Making it through Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years were great for us. Now we are about to share some other milestones together, Monday is my Birthday; Thursday is our 21st Anniversary; and March 5th, we celebrate 30 years together.  In October, we never dared to dream this was possible.

Enjoy what's in your heart and live each day. Trust me, all that other stuff is just a filler.  Your priorities change in the wink of an eye.

Love to you all, Jim & Karen"
