Open Windows School Flintknapping Demo
On October 3rd 2014, PSK member Jim Keffer was invited to give a demonstration and lecture to two classes of 5th graders at the private Open Windows School in Issaquah, WA.
Jim brought along a variety of knappable rocks for the students to look at and handle along with ten display cases of PSK member points and a tool display featuring both 'Abo' tools and modern tools.
The lecture and demo occurred simultaneously with the students in both classes asking a lot of very good question. Jim attributes his ability to answer most of the student's questions to his recent reading of the late Paul Douglas Campbell's book "The Universal Tool Kit - Out of Africa to Native California". Jim was even able to complete a nice bi-face for each class!
